Called to Rise

Raise Them In the Kings House

“Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out, and their cry came up to God because of the bondage”
(Exodus 2:23 )

This moment in history takes place 80 years after the pharaoh of Egypt ordered the murder of the infants of God’s people and 80 years of hard labor in bondage to an evil nation. As I read it, I thought, what in the world would make them tolerate a king murdering their children and take 80 years to say, ‘Please God help us! Deliver us from our enemy?

They were great in number. They were so numerous that Egypt feared them rising up against them. Yet, they didn’t take a stand to save their children from slaughter. It’s not recorded that they cried out for deliverance until 80 years later.  They tolerated the murder of One of the most precious gifts God has given us and continued in bondage for 80 more years. Children are a promise of a future, of legacy, and of inheritance. They are a promise of continuing beyond yourself. The instinct to protect and guard our children is innate. It rises out of us from an unknown place and causes us to have no regard for ourselves in the face of danger. Yet they tolerated it. Did you notice that the scripture does not say they cried out for help Saving their children, but they cried out because of their “bondage”? This is so far outside human nature that I couldn’t help but ask why.

Israel at this point had known nothing but slavery. I truly believe and can see in my own life that we are often bound but do not see our own bondage because we have known nothing but bondage in certain areas of our lives. Egypt oppressed Israel to the point that they tolerated the murder of their children and didn’t cry out to God. That speaks volumes to the power and deception bondage can have over a person. We, like Israel, are blind to our bondage because it is all we have known. So much of what perpetuates struggle in our lives stems from things out of biblical order. But we don’t even recognize it as a problem. To us, it is Just the way things are, and we don’t even know we should do something to change it. My Pastor has been preaching all year on how we face battles and struggles and misfortunes throughout life, and we fail to see that they are, in fact, not “just life” but the operation of the enemy working to keep us in bondage to a fallen world.

God has created us to be free, but we have been bound for so long we do not even recognize the bondage anymore because it is our normal. Year after year, decade after decade, each generation of Israel lost a little part of God’s promises to His people to the point that four centuries later, they no longer knew who they were or Who Their God was. Little by little, they were drawn into bondage, so they did not recognize the oppression until it was too late to free themselves from the snare of the enemy.

God saw the plot of the enemy to enslave His people and made a plan for deliverance. He spared Moses from the slaughter of Infants, and raised up for himself a deliverer. God used the plot of the enemy to raise Moses up to be a leader free from the bondage of Israel. Moses was raised in the King’s house; he did not have to contend with the oppressed mindset of the nation of Israel. This made it possible for Moses to recognize the oppression of Israel. In his zeal for Justice and, in anger, he murders one of the taskmasters oppressing God’s people. But the people don’t see His attempt to defend them as heroic, nor does his anger about their bondage rouse them to see their own oppression. Still blind to the problem, all they saw was a murderer.

It took 40 more years for them to cry our for deliverance.

God never intended for us to be in bondage which is why he sent His Word Jesus to redeem us from sin. I want to live free, and I want my children to be free from bondage and soar to the God calling on their lives. To do that, I have to raise them In the “King’s house,” free from the entrapment’s of the mindset of a slave. I can’t do that if I myself operate in the mindset of a slave. If I do not respond to God’s word and live according to His design, I am resigning to raise my children to a level of freedom at or below my own. I want my children to go higher than I can imagine. For that reason alone, I must ascribe to a higher understanding of God’s plan to remove generational mindsets and traditions that seem normal to me and may even be comfortable to me.

Many in the Body of Christ today are in bondage. When Christ died, the Church was born, and the forerunners of the faith walked in freedom, power, and knowledge that, over the centuries, many have forgotten, and the church has become a shadow of its former self. Even with great opposition, the first-century church conquered nations with the Word of God. They didn’t do it by conforming to a fallen world’s ideas of normal. They challenged the status quo and boldly declared the truth of God’s word. Because of their bold determination and unwavering faith, they walked in their God-given authority to cast out the devil, heal the sick, and set the captives free.

We, as the body of Christ, are called to go from faith to faith and glory to glory. That’s a continual, perpetual increase. So the body should not be operating below the first century church but higher. Somehow, traditions and doctrine of men became the norm and we lost something along the way. Thankfully God is faithful and He has always kept A remnant burning that holds on to the full gospel and carries with them revival that restores forgotten truths of God’s Kingdom.

In today’s churches many who claim Christ as their savior are in deep bondage to what has become “normal Christian Life.” Salvation was never intended to be the end but the beginning of a great adventure with God. Saying yes to God was never suppose to be Just an insurance plan you make payment to by attending church each week so you don’t go to Hell. But that is what religion has made it. “Go to church and be a nice little christian and everything will be fine.” No! Jesus was bold radical and in your face with the truth. It is a farce, a deception of the enemy that tells us we just need to be a good little christian. The devil has us blind to the truth and bound to ideologies that prevent us from walking in the full Power of God’s promises. Jesus Flipped tables and shook the very foundation of what was normal and We are called to do the same. Our goal as a believer is to walk as Jesus walked and Talk like Jesus talks.

Many things the average Christian ascribes to God contradict His word, yet for the sake of tradition and lack of understanding, we perpetuate them and pass them on to our children in error. You can easily identify bondage when you read and listen to the word of God. You identify bondage with this one truth. If it does not align with God’s word, it is Not God. The Word of God lays out the truth for us.  Jesus is the word of God. He is unchanging, and the entirety of God’s word is God-breathed and profitable to us and makes the way for us to be complete in Christ.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”

(John 1:1)

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever”

(Hebrews 13:8)

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [a]instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work

(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Kenneth E Hagen once Said “he was convinced that you couldn’t Love God any More than you loved the Word of God”.

And when you think about it there is no way around that truth. If Jesus is the Word, which He is, then If you don’t Love the Word of God, how could you love God. The answer is yo can’t. If you Love God Show Him by getting into His Word

We are all walking out the process of sanctification, and have not yet “arrived”, but far too often, God’s word is being twisted to justify or excuse our sins rather than accepted and applied as God has written it. God’s word was intentionally written to challenge the status quo. Its purpose was not to make us feel good or comfortable in our bondage to sin but rather to reveal and deliver us from bondage. Sometimes, the word of God can punch us in the face. It is often hard to swallow when it challenges our version of what’s normal. However, when God’s truth challenges you, it is an invitation to one of two choices. We can ask ourselves why our lives dont match the scripture and seek God for deliverance, or we can twist the word of God into our own understanding to stay comfortable in a lie.

The word of God says we can only serve one master. “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. (Mathew 6:24)

There is the God of Heaven Jesus and there is the God of this world; satan. Every action you take and Idea you follow aligns you with one of those two masters. If you reject the truth of the word of God with your own ideas you are giving yourself to the enemy in that area. If you think “I would never”, let me ask you a question. Have you ever responded to someone quoting scripture with, “Well, yes, it says that, but that’s not what I believe?” Does the word of God not say, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding” ( Proverbs 3:5)? “Or When someone mentions something as a sin, have you ever thought well, yes, but God’s grace is sufficient.” Not as a means of getting free but rather as justification to stay unchallenged in your sin? Have you ever thought that healing is not for today or speaking in tongues stopped with the disciples? What about Sickness? Have you ever thought that God allows sickness to teach someone a lesson? “God is good, does good, and gives good gifts to his children” (Psalms 119:68 and Luke 11:13). No parent who is “good” would wish sickness upon their child, let alone intentionally make them sick to teach them a lesson. How much better is God, who is holy, than us who are sinful?

Do you read The word of God everyday? Psalms 1:2 says “we should meditate on it day and night” How can you do that if you do not spend time in His word daily? But Most Christians don’t do that and explain it away with I don’t have time. Gods word isn’t a suggestion. Let me explain. My children have chores. They know what they are and I expect them to do them without being asked. They are children so its frequent that they need a reminder. When I remind them they are already in disobedience because they know what is right and chose not to act. However I will ask them the first time to do their chore as a gentle reminder. This is not a suggestion! That is a warning because if I ask again there is going to be a problem for them.

It is the same with Gods word. When we read something in Gods word it is a reminder to do what is right but its not a suggestion if we do not obey Gods Word it is going to be a problem for us. Many Christians believe and operate in these lies of the enemy, Believing they are walking with God, but when these ideas are held to the all-consuming fire of God’s word, they do not hold up. These ideas and many others are common place in today’s church but they are at best the sad attempt of men intended to explain away why Gods word isn’t working and at worst the operation of the demonic realm to twist our knowledge of God into something that leaves us powerless against our enemies tactics. The enemy doesn’t want us to Know the truth about who God is, how His kingdom operates or who we are in Christ because if we are no longer ignorant to the truth we become unstoppable.

How many other traditional beliefs have been passed down falsely as “God’s will” or “God’s Word”? This is why taking everything we know and are taught to the word of God is so important. The enemy’s intent all along has been to deceive the body of Christ with little twists to God’s word, slowly lulling them to sleep and leading them into bondage and oppression that they do not recognize. The enemy is not afraid of a long game. He has been doing it since the beginning of time, and he didn’t suddenly quit. Over 2000 years ago,Jesus defeated him on that cross, and he knows it. But that didn’t stop him. He is determined to take as many as possible to hell with him. He just went to work chipping away at the solid truths Jesus left for us. He understands human nature better than most humans. He knows that an outright lie is easily detected, but using the word of God with a little twist will easily confuse those who do not know the word and set the snare for them to be lured into bondage.

So many Christians today are walking in a simile of an idea of who God is and the power available to them as a child of God. They believe they are walking in the truth they believe In God and believe what they know of His word but they are Ignorant to the true and Living God who is just waiting for them to cry out to Him for Freedom. WE Have fallen into the lie that we have to settle for less than what we read in the word of God Or that the Miraculous power we see in His Word is reserved for the elite. The word of God doesn’t Say that but somehow we have believed it because it is the status quo. Is it possible that the reason the church is not walking in the full power of God, available to us through Christ, isn’t because those gifts of the spirit have passed away but rather because holiness has been forgotten? The Bible is clear: holiness is a requirement of Gods kingdom. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” ( Mathew 6:33). The blessings of God are conditional, and holiness, faith, and obedience are the conditions.

His word has become something open to our own interpretation rather than the holy, irrefutable word of God that is unchanging. The whole point of Christ is that we can not meet the requirements of Heaven in and of ourselves, but through Christ, we are made righteous by his blood and empowered to live Holy through His Holy Spirit.

It is time for the Body of Christ to rise up out of the bondage of believing that life and the circumstances it creates dictates our level of freedom. Christ determined our freedom on the cross over 2000 years ago, and He hasn’t changed His mind. We have access to complete freedom in Christ. Every bondage in this fallen world is broken by the blood of Jesus. Sickness, disease, heartbreak, depression, addiction, poverty, and lack all of it is contrary to God’s word and His promises for His people. But we tolerate it just like the Israelites tolerated the bondage of Egypt because it is all we have known. Its NORMAL. We must recognize that if they exist in our lives, we have work to do. First, we must cry out to God to have mercy on us and deliver us from our bondage and, secondly, to trust Him with His deliverance plan.

We must boldly live for holiness and grab hold of the power and authority Christ has given us. We are only limited by our own lack of understanding.  If we will seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, there is nothing we do not have access to through Christ. God is waiting for His people to recognize their bondage and cry out to Him for deliverance. Will you recognize that you, as a believer, are in bondage in any area of your life that does not match what the word of God says? Will you cry out to him for deliverance? Or will you, like the nation of Israel, sit blindly and remain in your bondage where you are comfortable until the enemy’s oppression is so great that even you can no longer ignore the torment of your oppression?

I can not tell you the number of things God has revealed to me in my own life that were “normal” until God showed me the truth. Each and every time, I had to make a choice. Will I go the way of the daughter of the King, or will I remain in the bondage of a slave? Some of those moments were extremely painful and hard to make the right choice because I had to do things that were completely outside of my comfort zone. Some of them were so much a part of my normal that the process of freedom was excruciating. Some took years to break, and others were instantaneous. I don’t regret choosing freedom even the most painful ones were worth the reward.  I still have areas that God is working to free me from. He is patient and long-suffering in His love for me, never leaving me in my mess without an answer of freedom and love.

I am determined to continue to choose to live the life of the daughter of the King and break free from the life of slavery. He has given me a manual called the Bible with precise instructions for what is best for us. I have fallen even more in love with His word and I will continue to love it all the more. This is the way that I will rise up and, with intention, raise my children in the King’s house.  I will intentionally set us aside from what the world and many Christians call normal. Its not easy to buck the system and decide not to follow the crowd but they will have enough to overcome in this world without having to overcome false ideas and doctrines of men that do not lead to life. When I received Christ My life became His, and His life became mine, which happens to be the greatest gift you can receive. Why would I trample so great a gift by taking my life into my own hands again and doing it how I think it should be done? God’s way has always been and will always be the better way.

If you too like me desire a life of Freedom and victory and are determined to raise your children in the King’s House. Pray this prayer with me. Lord God, Open the eyes of My Understanding that I can see the truth of your word and the areas of my life that do not line up with your perfect will for my life. I choose this day Rather than following tradition and making excuses for my life not aligning with your promises, I will seek your face to root out every ungodly idea that hinders me from taking hold of the fullness of Your Kingdom. I will teach my children that the written word of God is the way of life, truth, and freedom, and anything that does not align with the Word should be thrown out. I choose to throw away every comfortable or beloved traditions that has kept me trapped in a lie. I desire for me and my family to live in your perfect will for our lives and obey your word completely. I understand that your word was not created to be interpreted and debated. Help me Lord to receive it as it was written. Help me to use it as a two-edged sword sharp enough to separate bone and marrow, soul and spirit. Lord I am determined to receive and submit to your word in faith and Obedience. Have mercy on me and show me how to walk this out and break free from what has held me back. Jesus paid a high price for me. I am blood-bought and redeemed from the curse of the law. I understand That means He gave His life as payment for my own life. My life belongs to Him, and I no longer have the right to do it my way. Give me your grace Lord to walk that out and don’t let my enemy deceive me into living anything less than your best for my Life. In Jesus mighty Name I pray

AMEN
